The quicksand pit can be avoid by driving around its edges, while the Pokeys are best avoid by driving next to them. The tornado may become a problem because its movement is random, but you can easily see it coming in order to make some adjustments to your course. All three are avoided rather easily though. There are three obstacles on this course that need to be avoided: the wandering tornado that may appear on the course, the quicksand pit near the end of the course, and the random Pokeys that litter the area. Taking turns as tightly as possible is the key to winning here. Drifting into a turbo boost will definitely cut your time down, but since the track is fairly wide open you will have to be aware that just about anything will be able to hit you on this course.

It's a seven-lap race instead of the standard three laps, but since it's a big oval you can really wreck some havoc here. This is the simplest course in the game, but it's also one of the most enjoyable. However, make sure that the tide isn't coming in when you take this jump, as you'll have to go through the water if it is, slowing you down significantly. You'll spot a turbo boost and a ramp that will allow you to cut off some seconds from your time. Instead of going left against the wall, head towards the cargo bins. The single shortcut in this race occurs early in the race. You can go left at the beginning of the race to enter a warp pipe to get yourself a double item box, but it's not worth it for the time that you lose. This is a better option since you don't have to worry about the ocean tide, which rides in at certain intervals during the race. Try sticking close to the wall in order to avoid them. If they spot you, they'll make a mad dash towards you in order to flip you up into the air. There's a strong possibility that you can ram into someone who's going in the opposite direction, which will cause you to lose speed and possibly even an item if they attack you.Īnother easy course, but you can really get messed up here by the Dune Buds walking around. You should also be aware of the lack of any barriers during the 100cc and 150cc races.

By doing so you can also pick up some double item boxes if you're lucky. Take advantage of the speed strips that are on the outside part of both major turns here. Other than that, you shouldn't have any problems with this course. The only real danger here is the Chomp Chain during turn 1. This is the first course in the game, so it's pretty basic.
